From the moment we arrived, I knew we were in for an unreal experience. 

This place is absolutely beautiful, the staff are amazingly friendly and no stone is left unturned. We saw the big five in the first 48 hours and we saw a lion Just miss dining on a zebra, incredible! Do yourself a favour and go experience it. I promise you will not regret it. Thank you for the trip of a lifetime!

Buffalo Thorn definitely exceeded my expectations. 

I am from the States, but I’ve been living in SA for 8 years. I had a group of 9 people visiting from America and thought that Buffalo Thorn would be perfect for us. It definitely was! From the moment we arrived the staff went above and beyond to make sure our experience was incredible. The lodge is beautiful and has everything one could need. The outdoor showers were a big hit among our group!

Buffalo Thorn was amazing!!

We came with a group of 9 friends and Everything about the experience was spectacular. The accommodations were beautiful and everyone was thrilled with the lodges. The common pool and hot tub area were awesome as well. We had gotten married earlier this year in the states and were in South Africa celebrating with family and friends here. Nerina and Jacques were kind enough to leave us champagne and chocolates in our room which was such a special touch. The game drives were spectacular. Jacques did a fantastic job and was so much fun. We can not speak highly enough about buffalo Thorne! Thank you Jacques and Nerina!

Our US family were totally blown away with the lodge and the game drives so all very successful! My wife and I were very impressed with the chalets, the staff and Jacques went out of his way to find animals for the family. Will certainly recommend the lodge to anyone interested.

Our family celebrated my husband’s 60th birthday by spending 4 glorious nights at Buffalo Thorn Lodge.

The lodge is absolutely magnificent and suited our family perfectly. We enjoyed two games drives a day with our ranger, Sarah and were very excited to see cheetah on our first drive out. We were also lucky to see elephants and rhinos, and of course, lots of impala, zebra and wildebeest. What made our stay more enjoyable was that our 6-month-old grandson was able to join us on the drives. We spent a wonderful family time together in this beautiful part of our country! This is definitely more than a 5* game lodge. Thanks to Sarah and the staff of Buffalo Thorn Lodge! WE LOVED IT!!
