With a busy Christmas season behind us Buffalo Thorn Lodge is ready and geared for the year ahead.
The past two months have seen our guests enjoying glorious hot –sunny days with the occasional afternoon rain storm, Bushveld summer at its best. What better way can there be to spend the hot day of summer lazing around, swimming in the pool overlooking the beautiful African bushveld, going for a afternoon nap in our beautiful air-conditioned rooms and rounding of the day with a afternoon game drive followed by a sundowners stop with impala grazing a mere meter away.
Buffalo Thorn Lodge has had a busy past two months with wonderful guests and great game viewing. The lions were seen almost every day, with the elephants coming for a frequent visit to the lodge. We also got to witness the interaction of a elephant cow with her newly born calf, lions fighting for territories, the unfortunate event of a male lion killing a Brown Hyena and the amazing display of two white rhinos mating.
We’ve also had some much needed and very welcome rain last week – Total rain for the week measured: 140mm
The guests visiting the lodge over the last month came from far and wide to spend some much needed time in the Bush away from the hustle and bustle. We had guests
from Switzerland, Germany, France, South Africa, America , Australia and England.
From all of us here at Buffalo Thorn Lodge may this be year be a memorable one and may the bush bring us all some nice and unexpected surprises!!
