The annual baby boom is upon us. The impala lams are starting to drop which is a symbol that the Summer is in full swing. It also brings hope that 2021 will be a year of growth and Prosperity. .
Impalas are so well adapted to their environment, they synchronize their breeding, having all their young during a 3-4 week period. This flushes the ecosystem with new born young. The predators use this time to teach their own young the hunting skills they will need to survive.
The red heartebeest antelopes are usually the first to have their young during the start of spring. This allows the young to get a head start at life. But because they do not drop with the rest of the antelopes their young are targeted by the predators. But they are considered as some of the fastest long distance runners in the bush. Which helps…
We’ve had some beautiful rain so far and 2021 will be a great year, almost coming up to 350mm. With the promise of an exceptional rainy season. We can expect the bush to explode into a lush green with lots of foliage for All.
